Mod Generator

Generate a Fabric or Forge mod from a description: blocks, items, entities and more. How Quick Create picks Fabric or Forge, and why Quilt is greyed out.

How It Works

Works like the Plugin Generator, for mods. Fabric and Forge are built as you pick them; the table below says what happens with the other choices in the loader picker. Describe your mod feature and the AI handles the boilerplate, mixins, registration, and all framework-specific code.

Supported features include: - Custom blocks and items - New entities and mobs - World generation - Client-side rendering - Mixins and access transformers

The loaders in the picker

LoaderWhat it isCan you pick it?
**Auto**Does **not** pick a loader by version. The build server sets an Auto pick up as a **Fabric** mod, so you may not get the loader you expectedYes — but pick **Fabric** or **Forge** yourself
**Forge**The most popular one: the biggest API and the largest mod ecosystemYes
**Fabric**Lightweight, modular, quick to follow new Minecraft versionsYes
**NeoForge**The modern successor to Forge, for 1.20.2 and up. VyroAI does **not** build NeoForge mods yet**No — greyed out, marked Coming Soon**
**Quilt**A fork of Fabric with extra features**No — greyed out on purpose**

Quilt and NeoForge are listed but switched off

You will see Quilt and NeoForge in the loader list, marked Coming Soon, and find you cannot select them. That is deliberate, not a fault on your side and not a bug to report: they are shown so you know VyroAI knows about them, and each will become selectable if and when it is supported.

If you were going to build for Quilt, Fabric is the closest thing available today — Quilt is a fork of it, so a Fabric mod is the sensible starting point.

Quick Create reads the loader from your words

The Quick Create door — the one marked Recommended, and where the Minecraft Mod Generator page's button ends up — now shows a small Fabric / Forge switch on its toolbar for mods. It is filled in from your description (the hint beside it reads Forge — from your request or Default — tap to change), so writing Forge gives you a Forge mod, and you can change it before you press Create. NeoForge is greyed out as Not available yet, and Quilt is not offered. For Forge, the switch notes that versions are not checked automatically yet, so name your Minecraft version in the description.

The Minecraft version works as it does for plugins: a version named in your description — "a mod for 1.21.11" — wins over your saved default.

Why a new block is purple and black

A purple-and-black checkerboard is Minecraft's own sign for a missing texture. The game looked for the picture of that block or item and found none, or found a model file whose name does not match the block's id. It is a problem with the mod's picture and model files, not with its code.

The mod generator writes the code, and the picture can come from VyroAI too, as the Minecraft Mod Generator page now says: ask the AI in the Code Studio chat for a picture of the item or block, or make one in the Image Creator. A picture in the MC Item or MC Block style carries Add to a mod, which saves it into this project at assets/<modid>/textures/item/<name>.png (or textures/block/ for a block), with none of the watermark the Download buttons add — Adding a Picture to Your Mod as a Texture walks through it.

The file on its own is still not enough: the item or block needs the code that registers it and a model file pointing at the picture, which is precisely what the checkerboard is telling you.

Always use the VyroAI Build & Export button to compile your mod. The cloud build system handles all Forge and Fabric dependencies automatically.

Modrinth and AI-made mods

From 27 September 2026, Modrinth does not allow projects that are mainly AI-made, and it bans AI-generated images — icons included — anywhere on a project page. A mod VyroAI.vip wrote from your description counts as AI-made, and so does an icon our generator drew. Use the mod on your own server or share the .jar with your players; before uploading to any mod site, read its rules on AI and disclose AI use where it is allowed.
