Script Editor (Skript)

Write Minecraft Skript without Java: where the Script Editor lives, how to start a .sk script, and when addons, server TPS or a real plugin matter.

What is the Script Editor?

The Script Editor is for Minecraft Skript — the plain-language scripting system that runs on the Skript plugin, with no Java or compiling required. Its home page is a script list of its own, and opening a script puts you in the same Code Studio as plugins, working on .sk script files.

Where to find it

The Script Editor lives at /tools/script-editor — worth bookmarking, because nothing in the app's menus links there today. The page itself is a normal dashboard with the usual sidebar, a search box over your scripts, and a New script button.

Creating a script

  1. Open the Script Editor and press “New script”
  2. A project called My Script is created straight away, with a main.sk file — there is no naming step. Rename it later if you want
  3. Describe what you want in chat, or edit the script directly
  4. Download the .sk file and drop it into your server's plugins/Skript/scripts folder

Step 1's button, at the top of /tools/script-editor. Nothing in the app's menus links to that page today, so bookmark it.

Addons, server lag, and turning a script into a plugin

Three questions the Minecraft Skript Generator page answers:

Because Skript runs as scripts on the Skript plugin, there is no Cloud Build step — your .sk file is ready to use as soon as you download it.
