When Your Storage Plan Renews

A storage tier is rented, not bought: it takes the same credits again every 30 days until you cancel — and this is what happens to your files if it stops.

Storage is rented, not bought

A storage tier is not a one-off purchase. When you press 1 GB, 10 GB or 100 GB the confirm window says so in as many words — This spends … credits now and again every 30 days while it's active. — and from then on the same number of credits leaves your balance every 30 days until you stop it.

The Storage card under Profile → Billing, and the same card on the Pricing page, is where all of this shows: your quota, then paid through a date, then auto-renews. Paid through is the day the next charge is taken, not the day something runs out.

What happens on that day

A job on our side looks every hour for plans whose day has come, and then one of two things happens:

• You have enough credits. They are taken, the plan gets another 30 days, and the paid-through date moves on. There is no email and no notification for a storage renewal. It shows in two places: the new date on the Storage card, and a line in Recent Transactions further down the same Billing tab (it opens folded; click the header to see your last 10).
• You do not have enough, or you cancelled. The plan lapses there and then. Your quota goes back to the free 100 MB, and the charge is not retried later.

The amount is the one recorded when you bought: the renewal takes exactly what the first 30 days took, subscriber discount included.

Pressing your own tier again starts the 30 days over

The button for the tier you already have is a renew button — the window asks Renew 1 GB storage? and the credits go immediately. It does not add 30 days to the days you still have: it sets the next charge to 30 days from now, so whatever time was left is gone.

Storage cannot be paid further than 30 days ahead at all, so there is nothing to gain by pressing it early. With auto-renew on, the renewal happens by itself on the paid-through date.

Cancelling

Cancel sits on the Storage card, and only while a paid tier is auto-renewing. Pressing it turns the renewal off — nothing more. No credits are taken and none come back: you keep the tier and its quota until the paid-through date, and on that day the plan lapses instead of renewing.

There is no part refund on storage. The self-service refund of whole unused blocks elsewhere on that page belongs to VyroAI+, not to storage. To start renewing again, press your tier again — which charges straight away and begins a fresh 30 days.

What happens to your files when it lapses

Nothing is deleted. Every file you already have stays exactly where it is. The quota can only ever refuse something new.

So back on the free 100 MB with more than 100 MB stored, you are over your quota, and it is new uploads that get turned away:

• A new upload is refused. The screen does not always say that the quota is why: the upload box on your project page, for example, answers Upload failed — is file storage online? If uploads start failing right after your plan lapsed, the quota is the likely reason.
• Deleting always works, and so does any change that makes your storage smaller.
• Restoring a project out of the 30-day Trash is never refused — the trash expires, so refusing a restore would turn a limit into a delete.
• Anything already running finishes. A generation or a build in flight is never cut off half-way.

Getting back under the limit

Two ways back:

• Clear space. Generated videos and old gallery pictures are almost always the bulk of it — download anything you want to keep first. Build jars, dependency jars, avatars and version snapshots were never counted, so deleting those changes nothing; Storage & Limits lists what does count.
• Rent a tier again. Press the tier you want on the Storage card. The quota is back the moment the credits are taken.

Storage you were given never renews

If your plan was granted to you by VyroAI, the Storage card carries a Granted badge with the tier written the short way (for example Granted — 1gb), shows your quota and says Your storage plan was granted to you — it never expires and is never charged. There is no renewal day, no Cancel button and no tier buttons at all, because there is nothing to buy.

Keep a few hundred credits spare while you are renting storage. An empty balance on the wrong day does not fail loudly — the plan simply lapses, and the first you hear of it is an upload being refused.
