Not working yet: You cannot get anyone onto a project this way today — an invitation can be sent but never accepted. The article below explains what to do instead.

Working on a Project With Someone Else

Invitations can be sent, but not yet accepted — read this before you rely on it.

Invitations cannot be accepted yet

You can send a collaboration invite and the email arrives, but the link in it does not work — it lands on a page that does not exist. Nobody can accept, so every invitation stays pending forever and the other person never gets access.

The sending half of the feature is real; the receiving half was never finished. Do not use this to get someone onto a project today.

What to do instead

Two things that do work:

What the dialog does today

For completeness: the Share & Publish dialog on a project card has a Collaborate tab where you type an email address, choose Viewer or Editor, and send. The person appears in the list as pending, each row has a remove button, and the invite is stamped to expire after 7 days. All of that works — it simply never leads anywhere for the person you invited.

Your projects page's sidebar has entries called Your Projects, Published and Shared — but Shared does not mean "shared with me": it lists public community projects. Invited projects appear in none of them.

Inviting a collaborator is not the same as publishing. A private project stays private no matter how many people you invite — publishing is the separate Publish tab in the same dialog.
