Not working yet: Backends are not switched on yet: the card works, but choosing one answers "Backends switch on with the next server update" and nothing is charged.
A database, logins and file storage for one web app: VyroAI Cloud as a paid monthly add-on or your own Supabase — one per app, chosen once.
Everything a generated web app does in the browser on its own — pages, animations, video, the preview — needs nothing extra, as the card says under its buttons: Free right now: animations and video uploads, up to your storage limit.
The moment the app has to remember something between one visitor and the next, it needs a backend: A database, user logins and file storage for this app.
The screens are built and the server half is not. Choosing a backend answers Backends switch on with the next server update — nothing was charged., and saving a key answers The vault switches on with the next server update — nothing was saved.
Neither is a fault on your account: no credits are taken, nothing is stored, and nothing about your app changes. The rest of this page is how it works once it is switched on.
Open Project Settings → Connectors and look for the card called Backend. It is there for real web apps only — a browser game made in the Game Studio has no backend to give it.
The chat sends you to the same place: an app with no backend that is asked for something needing a database answers with a card reading This app needs a backend, a Choose a backend button and a Not now. That button only opens the settings — nothing is ever bought from a chat message.
The card says it before you pick and the confirm window says it again: After you choose, this app keeps that backend. You can't add a second one or switch later.
There is no switch and no remove button anywhere on the card, and the server refuses a second one. Decide before you press. If you are not sure, the safe move is to leave the app without a backend — that costs nothing and keeps the choice open.
The price of VyroAI Cloud is never invented by the screen. It is read from the price list, shown on the tile as … / month, and repeated in the confirm window — and nothing is bought from a single click, because that window is the second press. When no price has been set, the tile reads Price shown before you pay and the button is greyed out as Not available yet, so there is no way to be charged an amount you were not shown first.
Your own Supabase costs VyroAI nothing. Connect my Supabase takes you to Supabase to sign in, and the bill is theirs to send you.
The card turns into a status line: the backend's name, a chip reading Active, Setting up…, Paused or Failed, and under it the region, then renews monthly for VyroAI Cloud or you pay Supabase directly for your own, and how many database changes you have approved.
Open data opens the dashboard, and stays greyed out until there is one to open. Manage add-on is greyed out too — there is no billing screen for the add-on yet.
An app with a backend usually needs keys that are not ours — a Stripe secret key, say. The AI never asks for one in ordinary chat. It draws a green Vault bubble instead: the key's name, who it is for (your project's name followed by only, for example Pixel Shop only, or All my projects), a box to paste into with a Show switch, and a Where do I find this? button.
What happens to what you paste:
SUPABASE_ are refused: those belong to the app itself.A key meant for one app needs that project open. In a chat that is not inside the project the bubble says Open this chat inside the project to save the key. Keys marked All my projects can be saved anywhere — and where both exist, the key saved for one app wins over the all-projects key with the same name.
