Every Upload Limit in One Place

How big a file can be, wherever you are putting it — and which box refuses which format.

Why this page exists

VyroAI has a lot of places to put a file into, and they do not share one limit — a 30 MB jar is fine in one box and refused in another two screens away. This is the whole list, so you can check before the upload rather than after it.

The limits

WhereWhat it takesLimit
**Code Studio chat** attachmentThe same rules as the AI Chat Attach button: code, text and config files, images, and archives (zip, jar, tar…) — **not PDFs**, and never a program file (`.exe`, `.dll`, `.bat`, `.msi`, `.vbs` and the like are refused outright)**50 MB** per file, up to 3 attachments
**AI Chat** — the Attach buttonCode, text and config files, images, archives (zip, jar, tar…) and **a video** (MP4, WebM, MOV), which is read as 8 still pictures and never uploaded — **not PDFs**: the button refuses them ("PDFs can't be read as text yet")**50 MB** per file, up to 3 attachments — an oversized file gets a visible error. A video: up to **60 seconds** and **100 MB**
**AI Chat** — drag-and-dropCode, text and config files, PDFs, images — no archives this way. The only route that still takes a PDF**10 MB** per file — anything larger is skipped silently; use the Attach button for big files
**Import from ZIP** (new project) and **Apply ZIP Update**A `.zip` of source**2000 files** · **50 MB** of content · files over **10 MB** inside it are skipped, and any text file over **500 KB** is left out whole — the import names it
**Import** on the projects drawerA `.json` / `.mcplugin.json` project file only — **not** a zip**10 MB**
**Import File Here** (file tree)Any single file, text or binaryPractical, not fixed — it becomes part of your project
**Custom dependency** jar (Build tab)`.jar`, or a `.zip` of jars**25 MB** per jar; larger ones inside a zip are skipped
**Manual jar upload** (Publish tab)A built `.jar` for your public page**100 MB**
**Reference image** (Image Creator, Generate form)**PNG, JPG or WEBP** onlyResized to 1024px for you before it is sent
**Reference image** (Image Creator, Chat mode)**PNG, JPG, GIF or WEBP****10 MB** — a larger file is refused without a message
**Suggest a dependency** (the catalog)An optional `.jar` with your suggestion**25 MB**, and five a day

Most "refused" uploads are the wrong box, not the wrong size

The commonest failure is not a big file — it is a .zip handed to the projects Import button, which only takes the .json project file VyroAI writes when you export.

A zip belongs in Import from ZIP when you create a project, or in Apply ZIP Update inside a project you already have open. See Starting a New Project.

What counts against your storage

Size limits and your storage quota are two different things. A file being small enough to upload does not mean it is free to keep — see Storage & Limits for what is counted (generated images and videos, and project files) and what is not (chat attachments and reference pictures, version history, trashed projects).

A repository that will not fit is not a dead end: import the part you actually want to work on. VyroAI is happier with the module you are changing than with a monorepo, and so is the AI reading it.
