The reset email, the Choose a new password screen, and what a reset does not touch.
On the sign-in page, Forgot password? turns the form into Reset Password: type the email you registered with and press Send Reset Link.
The answer is always the same — "If that email exists, a password reset link has been sent. Check your inbox and spam folder." — on purpose, so nobody can use the form to test which addresses have accounts. A typo in the address gets the same calm message, so check what you typed before blaming the mail.
Asking again too quickly gets "Too many reset attempts. Please wait a minute and try again." — a rate limit, not a fault.
The link in the email opens Choose a new password; the card on it is titled Reset Password. Type the new password twice — at least 8 characters, and Show lets you see what you typed. Saving it signs you out everywhere and sends you back to the sign-in page: sign in once with the new password and you are done.
While the link is checked the card says "Checking your reset link…" for a moment. Reset links work once and for one hour. If yours is no longer good, press Send me a new link under the form, or open the newest reset email you have. Only the latest one counts.
Nothing but the password. Your projects, files, credits, subscription and settings are exactly where you left them — resetting a password never deletes or changes anything else on the account.
If two-factor is switched on, it still applies: the new password gets you to the same authenticator step as the old one did.
If you have always signed in with the Google or Discord button, keep doing that — those accounts sign in through the provider, and the reset form is for accounts that use a password.
Nothing arriving at all? When You Cannot Get In walks through the reset email that never comes, and the other ways a sign-in goes wrong.
