Putting VyroAI on your home screen or desktop, and what the offline and update bars mean.
VyroAI runs in a browser, but it can also be installed like an app — its own icon, its own window, no address bar. Nothing is downloaded from a store and nothing is compiled; it is the same VyroAI, in a frame of its own.
When your browser supports it, VyroAI offers this to you with a small install prompt. You can dismiss it and install later from your browser's own menu — "Install app" or "Add to Home Screen", depending on the browser.
On a phone it is the difference between hunting for a tab and tapping an icon, and the Code Studio gets the whole screen instead of sharing it with browser chrome — see The Code Studio on a Phone. On a laptop it keeps VyroAI out of a pile of tabs.
If your connection drops, a bar appears saying so. It is telling you why nothing is responding — generation, builds and saving all need the server. Work already on your screen stays there; it will sync when you are back.
When a new version of VyroAI has been released, a bar offers to reload. Taking it is a normal page refresh and takes a second.
It is worth taking rather than ignoring: an old tab left open for days is running old code, and most "that button does nothing" reports turn out to be exactly that.
The install prompt is not the only thing that can appear without being asked for: there is also the cookie banner, the bar that warns you a VyroAI service is having trouble, and the bar offering the update above. They used to decide for themselves when to show, which meant a first-time visitor could meet three of them at once, two stacked on the same bottom edge.
They now queue, and the order is fixed: the cookie banner first (it is the only one that legally has to be there), then a service notice, then the update offer, and the install prompt last. Each one waits until you have dealt with the ones in front of it — or until they stop having anything to say.
There is one exception: the update offer waits only for the cookie banner. Since 10 September 2026 it can sit on the bottom edge while a service notice shows under the header, so a service having trouble can never hide the way onto the new version.
So an install prompt that never seems to appear is usually not broken. Something ahead of it in that order is holding the slot.
On five pages the install prompt and the update offer never appear, whatever the queue says: the home page, and the four generator landing pages — Discord Bot Generator, Minecraft Plugin Generator, Minecraft Mod Generator and Minecraft Skript Generator.
Those are the pages people arrive on first, and a card sitting over the buttons before you have read a word is the worst possible welcome. The cookie banner still shows there — on the four generator pages as a slim one-line bar along the bottom — and a signed-in visitor can still get the service notice. Move on to any other page and the queue behaves normally again — so if you want the install prompt, carry on into the app rather than waiting on the front page.
The install prompt also stays away on your very first visit in a browser. Being asked to install something you have not used yet is exactly the kind of interruption this is meant to prevent.
Installing does not make VyroAI work without a connection. The AI, the builds and your projects all live on the server — the app frame is convenience, not offline mode.
