Talk to the assistant instead of typing — in AI Chat and in the Code Studio.
Voice mode takes over the screen: you speak, it listens, and it answers out loud. It is useful when your hands are busy, when you are on a phone, or when describing something is faster out loud than in writing.
Voice is not only an AI Chat feature. The Code Studio chat has the same spoken conversation mode — the radio icon next to the microphone — so you can talk through a plugin while you build it.
In the Code Studio, every AI reply also has a read-aloud button, if you would rather listen to one answer than switch the whole conversation to voice. (That per-reply button is a Code Studio thing — replies on the AI Chat page do not have one; there you use voice mode itself.)
Switch voice mode on from the chat page, and leave it to go back to the normal typed view. What you said is kept in the conversation like any other message.
You do not press stop. The microphone listens for you starting to talk and ends your turn by itself about a second and a half after you stop — so a conversation runs the way a phone call does, one turn after another, hands free. If you tap the microphone and then say nothing at all, it gives up after a few seconds and throws the clip away rather than sending an empty recording you would have paid for.
You pick which voice speaks to you. Open the + menu beside the chat box (or the voice button inside voice mode) and the picker lists every available voice with a ▶ sample button, so you can hear one before choosing it. Your choice is remembered everywhere — read-aloud and voice conversations both use it.
The same picker is in Profile → Preferences → AI Assistant → Voice & Speech, together with a quality choice:
Both save automatically and apply to everything spoken. If voice feels expensive, this is the setting to change first.
How much cheaper is Standard? Where we can say, the voice carries a little multiplier badge — 0,5× on a standard voice, so about half the price. Some voices deliberately show no badge at all: their real price comes from the live catalogue rather than a rule of thumb, and a guessed number on something you are paying for is worse than no number. Trust the badge when it is there, and take "about half" as the standard-voice case, not a promise about every voice.
Voice is not free: turning your speech into text, and the answer back into speech, both cost credits on top of the reply itself. Not much per sentence, but a long spoken session costs more than the same conversation typed — and where the badges show a 0,5× and a 1×, a Premium session costs about twice a Standard one.
Your browser will ask for microphone permission the first time. If nothing is being heard, check that VyroAI is allowed to use the microphone in your browser settings.
